At the end of our Matching Challenge Grant we have $803,764 in gifts and pledges. Thank you to the 361 individuals and families who have already contributed. So far contributions and pledges have ranged from $2 to more than $100,000. We're still working to build the endowment up to $1 million dollars so keep telling your friends and families about us. There's still time to give!

Our mission is to provide the Townsend Library community resources that inspire curiosity, cultivate understanding and excite the imagination.   

Our goal is to raise a $1 million endowment fund to celebrate the new library.  This fund could provide more than $40,000 in new programs and materials annually.  

Our hope is that you will help play a part in building the library into the best that it can be by donating today.

• Every donation, whether small or large, is critical to our success. 

• We can offer a wide range of giving opportunities including the monthly withdrawal from a credit card or bank account as well as the gifting of securities and personal property.

One hundred people in Townsend joined together in 1858 and each donated $3 to purchase books they could share, laying the cornerstone for the Townsend Public Library.  One hundred fifty years later, another group of citizens are joining together to show appreciation for Sterilite Corporation’s awe-inspiring gift by setting up a permanent endowment to help make the library the best that it can be.
